Learning in Blender

Even though I am in my production stage of creating a piece for my demo reel I still need to have some trial and error/practice to get myself used to the software as well as testing potential elements of the final piece.

Learning from a tutorial I found on YouTube, https://youtu.be/bwqvzK3qjys, I was able to learn about stencil sculpt, something that could potentially be beneficial when creating texture on the bungalow walls.

As you can see I downloaded a jpeg of a random brick texture as a stencil to follow the tutorial and it turned out quite well. If I were to use this method for texture I will most likely create a stylised version on procreate on my iPad and then transfer to blender for the stencil.

As this has worked better than I thought I am heavily considering this method for the bricked driveway I am thinking this could be more beneficial for this element.

For the roof tiles I was planning on just using a texture I will create from scratch in substance designer but looking through the tutorials online I have found another method I could use. As you can see here I have created a single roof tile and then duplicated it and adjusted through nodes. This was a very simple tutorial to produce roof tiles, this has helped me a lot with my confidence in Blender. I think for my project this might help the scene become heavy to render or use, as I am prominently using a laptop (due to travel, personal commitments and also my computer having to be packed away), I have to unfortunately be more realistic in what I can do as i cant always get to campus.
