Starting The External Designs - The layout

Before I even start considering prop design I wanted to have a clear layout of how the external environment will look like. Another reason for this is so I know what props to create and help me have a better understanding on what the props will look like.

For the external environment I was set in having the environment rounded in design. the reasoning behind this is that I want a nice way to show off the piece as a turntable for portfolio/showreel. My inspiration for this is shown in my inspiration blog post describing the work of Ian Worrel.

As you can see by the images above the overall environment consist of five or six elements; an outer are for woodland (I want to create a rural aesthetic as I believe I can be more creative with experimental with certain aspects), a bungalow, a catio, a back garden and/or a front garden next to a driveway.

For the outer areas of the environment will be something that will indidcate to the audience that the character lives in a rural area. most like be overgrown or over hanging trees, something that can somewhat isolate the scene, good for turntable in a showreel. To add a bit more variety for this space as well as intriguing the audience a little I want to add a water stream, this could also help me learn Blender and push the abilities of what I can make in the next project. I am choosing not to design this area as of yet as it doesn't provide story however, will be more focus on this in the next stage/assignment because I think I will design it better through 3D models.
