Because I want to create a showreel piece, on a practical turntable for the next project after animation application, I wanted to have a detached, stand alone house that is in amongst the rural representation of the outer areas. I was looking through Pinterest to help me gain a better understanding for what shapes that I could work with. I began some rough simple sketches to get the correct shape for the house, in the end I thought a bungalow as it can help aid the calming feel and won't look too big for one person to live in.

I really liked the idea of having a built porch at the front as it gives variation of shape. During this time I was considering whether I should over exaggerate certain areas of the bungalow, this is an option however I don’t think it will be needed due to the modelling and texturing which will take place in the following project.

The final design that I have created is simplistic yet has features that are not always common. At the front there is a porch, I was thinking of this part being a newer part of the bungalow rather than it always being there so I could play around with textures in the future. When coming to the decision of a bungalow the first thing I thought of was maybe placing the main bedroom within the roof space, this is why I have added a modern window, similar to the porch I want this to be an added new piece to the bungalow. for the windows at the front I have currently placed plants however during the modelling process this might change.

Concluding My Work

After the animation exploration assignment this was an extension upon that, mainly focussing on the external environment and props. A lot...
